Good job with the swimming! I used to spend half the summer in the water; now I'm lucky if I get in the pool five times.

That sudden weight gain is so bizarre, but hopefully the medication change will help. Have you been tracking any changes other than weight while you've been working to be more active? When I'm working hard to lose weight, I usually track a bunch of measurements too (bust, waist, lower abdomen, hips, thighs, and upper arms). Muscle tissue is denser than fat tissue, so two people with the same weight and frame can have very different proportions. It also helps me to keep things in perspective - if the number on the scale stays the same or goes up, but all of my measurements have gone down, I can assume that the weight was just a fluke.
