waxboxMeh, so the comment got to me, unfortunately and I decided if I got accepted into the game I wouldn't play but... I'm just like fuck it. I'm just like play and if people don't want to play with you, they won't. Which is fine. I was asked to revise and I'm thankful for that. Hopefully the revision asked is enough. I've always been shit at network samples, and prefer games where they aren't that necessary. Which this game doesn't make them so, from what I remember. Thank goodness.
Anyway, i love dreamwidth roleplay. I am very active in it or maybe it's just the characters I'm comfortable with playing. I love it but the vibe I get and the one person who had a bullshit comment bristles me. Like I said, as long as my characters mostly stick to canon, I don't see the big deal. And Seifer especially... he just... dude, he has very few character development scenes and is seen as the anti-villain. You have to give him more than that and if you don't give him more of a personality, it's all one dimensional. Same goes for Fujin and Raijin, if you don't expand on them, it's well, one dimensional. All the minor charcters need it. Then again, even Irvine needs help in that department a little bit.
It can only be assumed that Seifer was being controlled by Ultemicia as well. A lot of things are alluded to or assumed. We only have speculation to go on. So, Hyne? Probably FF8's god. The only difference is FF8 keeps words like god out of their games except in Tactics, as far as I know. There's also the fact that it's a rated Teen game, and therefore using any god in terms of a blasphemious way would be going against the teen rating.
Anyway, I've been a part of this fandom for sixteen years. Proving how old I really am. I only recently started reading some FFVIII fanfic again after playing the game for the hundredth time in my life and I usually back out of them because of the extreme oocness I come across, especially Seifer, with him loving a character all along and being a total sappy piss ant lmao... ahhh... it kinda proves how much people don't even begin to understand his character half the time because everyone else is right on the money in some of these fanfictions except him.
Well, Poor Rinoa is often abused in terms of personality, but I'm not sure if they're wrong or right on some characterization. I'm pretty sure she would refer to Squall as Squally, not even unironically and she'd probably whine if he had work to do and wasn't paying attention to her but otherwise, some of the bastardization of her character makes me feel bad for her. Like... she wasn't that damn bad. Come on.
Trust me, I don't like characters straying from their canon too much either but I appreciate when someone adds their own headcanon, because it gives the character more life.
Anyway, that's all I have to say about that.
I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off because I'm bored all day with nothing to reply to most of the time. I do have TDM's to replies to get to but like... hmmm... I wasn't feeling it for a moment there. I might respond to them or wait to make new posts if accepted. Hopefully my drive for Seifer isn't dead because of one little srsz bzness comment. I shouldn't have to change anything because someone thinks I shouldn't be playing in games if I can't play the character like everyone else because how boring would it be if we all did?
if you don't add something to to it, it doesn't feel as nice when someone says something like 'Your characterization of blank, is, insert words here.' because they'd basically be saying 'Character, blank, is played really well by you, just like everyone else plays them.' Seriously... where's the individuality? No cookie cutter shapes, please. I won't fit in the square peg hole, especially as fat as I am anyway. XDD
Okay! Okay! I'm done. I just suddenly feel a whole lot better.
